Concentration = peptide mass ÷ water volume. Unit readings assume U-100 insulin syringes, graduated 100 units per millilitre. For laboratory calculation only — not dosing guidance.

How the maths works

Concentration is peptide mass divided by diluent volume. 5 mg into 2 ml gives 2.5 mg/ml. The draw volume is then your target dose divided by that concentration — so a 250 mcg dose needs 0.1 ml. Adding more water lowers the concentration and increases the volume you draw, which is often the easier number to measure accurately.

Why the syringe matters

Resolution depends on barrel width, not capacity. A 0.3 ml barrel spreads 30 units over the same length a 1 ml barrel uses for 100, so each graduation covers less liquid. For small draws the narrower barrel is measurably more precise — which is why the calculator recommends the smallest one that still holds your volume.

What it does not do

This is arithmetic, not guidance. It does not suggest a dose, validate a protocol, or account for compound stability after reconstitution. Peptides degrade with heat, light and freeze-thaw cycling regardless of how precisely the volume was measured.
