Overview
CJC-1295 with DAC is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH, amino acids 1-29) modified with a Drug Affinity Complex. The DAC extension allows covalent binding to serum albumin after injection, significantly extending its half-life from minutes to approximately 6-8 days in research models. This prolonged activity profile enables sustained elevation of growth hormone and IGF-1 levels, making it a widely studied compound in endocrinology and growth factor research.
Mechanism of Action
CJC-1295 binds to GHRH receptors on anterior pituitary somatotroph cells, stimulating adenylate cyclase and increasing intracellular cAMP levels. This triggers the release of stored growth hormone in a pulsatile pattern that preserves physiological secretion rhythms. The DAC moiety forms a stable bond with circulating albumin via reactive lysine residues, shielding the peptide from enzymatic degradation (DPP-IV) and renal clearance, thereby extending its plasma residence time.
